I just got news that a friend who was in the direct travel business had moved to another city to start a new business.

I suppose it’s hard to keep a direct travel business if you don’t have a steady stream of clients, especially when more people are finding online travel planning more convenient. Besides, online travel seems cheaper and tends to offer good discounts during off peak seasons. Take for instance, I have been booking my hotel accommodations online for many years now whenever I travel – for leisure or for business. It is fast, convenient and easy.

So I guess my friend who went into his small business franchise had made a good decision. Or maybe he should convert his travel business to an online travel platform.
