Unlike many travelers who just want to laze around the beach all day and do nothing, I still like to sneak in some shopping when I’m on a vacation. I was told that Bali is a shopper’s paradise and there is alot to offer in handicrafts and apparel.

Hundreds of boutiques and roadside stalls have been set up all over the island, and thousands of artisans, craftspeople, seamstresses, woodcarvers, painters, etc are kept busy supplying the tourist demand. Sometimes swarms of vendors crowd the beaches and streets offering you T-Shirts, sarong, necklaces, friendship bracelets, drinks and watches. I do think you need to check through the quality when you want to buy anything from the streets.

Go out from your hotel and then stroll along the road which is lined by myriads of shops and kiosks. When you step into the shop, try not to accept the first price that you are given, as most vendors add on anything between 30%-50% extra. Bargain or go to other shops. I believe that with all the shopping I’m going to do, I can lose reduce belly fat in that short time! Walking is a good form of exercise! Although you may be tempted, try not to make any major purchases for the first few days. Look around, take your time, bargain if you like something or else, move on and continue shopping!
