Whenever I stay in a hotel or serviced apartment, I want to choose a place that isn’t that old as I don’t like the moldy smell in the room. This is especially so if the room is carpeted. Last time, we rented a cottage and the basement moisture was so bad that we had to ask for a change. I supposed it was hard to know what you were getting into if you were traveling and new to the place. In any case, you can get a humidifier to help with air quality at home and possibly a portable one if you are traveling!
