Buying Shoes Online

I don’t have to convince my hubby why I need to buy things online. For years, hubby has seen that online shopping presents lots of savings and flexibility. Today, I just told a friend how much she could save if she were to take time to find the right online store.

I love buying shoes online, whether it’s a pair of runners or a pair of Lowa Tibet Pro Boot. The only risk is that you may buy the shoes of the wrong size but many online stores allow exchanges as long as you don’t use the item. With that promise, there is more assurance that your wrong decision won’t cause you money wrongly spent.

Youthful Ambition

My son at the age of seven came home one day and told me that he wanted to be an engineer when he grows up. I thought that was an impressive decision!

I told him that people change their ambition as they mature in age. For me, he might prefer tecnology and Web Developer Jobs over something that requires him to stay in one place all day! He is ambitious at a young age and that’s not a bad thing. Who knows, he might just pursue his dreams that come from his heart and it may be something totally beyond his imagination!

Learning for the New Generation

It is getting so common for kids to use computers for their work these days. My son is already preparing his show and tell in powerpoint and it’s amazing how convenient this is!

I had a little conversation with him this morning and he told me that he found some best netbooks in the web and he even asked if he could download some new games into the computer. It’s good that the new generation is more informed of what’s going on in the world but as parents, it’s our job to keep track of what they are learning from the online world.

Hong Kong and Hawaii

I’ve been researching my hotel accommodation for an intended vacation to HOng Kong after Christmas. Call me mad or what… it’s hard not to like Hong Kong for its diverse culture.

The food is great and the shopping in incomparable to this part of the world where fashion is just so unappealing. In fact, I won’t even bother going shopping in the stores these days except for groceries. Well, I have to make sure that I get a good breakdown service plan when I’m traveling anywhere in the world, particularly in the US. Hubby said that we can travel to Hawaii next year and I am so delighted! I love the beaches and beautiful sunshine of this lovely island and hopefully, we can do another cruise too!

Baking and Cooking

Lately, I have been cooking and baking so much that my friends thought I was going to open up a restaurant.

We used to run a restaurant in the year 2000 but I realized that it was such a tiring business! I don’t like to work till late every night and there is practically no social life for us at all. I recalled shopping for restaurant furniture during those days and that was about the most enjoyable part of the business. The hardest part was trying to manage the kitchen team and with diverse backgrounds and character, it’s a tough job.

So if you ask if I would run a restaurant again, you can guess what the answer would be. Let’s just say that I enjoy cooking and baking for friends!

Thankful to Have a GPS

I can’t imagine how hard it would be for us to get around if we haven’t bought a gps on the first week arriving into a new city!

Most of our friends have a gps and that’s because it’s so useful to have one! It’s hard to get lost when you have a gps unless you went the wrong way. I am thinking of getting a garmin zumo when we have a second car and I hope that won’t be too long a wait. These days, we bring our gps everywhere we go and it has helped us to get to any place when we travel. I am just so thankful of gps!

Ordering a Gift Online

There are so many ways to show your love and care to a good friend or a close family member with today’s online technology.

Recently, I ordered some online cards for my mom on mother’s day and she was so happy to receive them. Since, I have been sending online gifts and cards to friends who live across the miles. These days, postage isn’t cheap so online creations make good sense. You can send from personal T-shirt with logos or photos to anything customized item and what’s lovely about it is that you get to design your own!

Keeping in Touch

In the past, I used to send cards to friends across the miles and sometimes, due to my busy schedule, I tend to send them late or forget to send them totally!

Thanks to online technology, I have been sending holiday cards online and it’s wonderful. Though I don’t get to see the physical card, the graphics on screen is so clear that it’s not hard to choose what you like. What more, the delivery is fast and it’s not hard to find something you like online. With that, there is simply no excuse to keep in touch!

Being Thankful

Last week, we went on a short vacation with a wonderful family and I felt so happy to know them.

This lady works in the health industry and I was glad to learn more about the industry through her. In the past, I don’t even bother much about the health care people other than commenting on the nurses uniforms sometimes but now I realize that I should not take them for granted. These people are so well trained in their profession that I should take more notice on them from now on. Though I have never been in this industry, I know it’s is one that needs alot of respect and we should be thankful for their service to the community.

Playing Golf

For some reason, I have never got my hands on golfing. In the past, the climate in Asia was too humid to play golf under the sun but now that we are in beautiful brisbane, it is quite nice to be out there.

If only my husband is still into golf, I would consider getting him a golf gps watch for Christmas. But these days, he had lost the passion to play golf though he would talk about it some days. Hopefully we can both pick it up one day and play it under this beautiful weather. Then again, there are plenty of things I want to do too!
